+{ the L O V E }

Is love possible? Of course, one could easily see the obvious differences in this strange pair. One is your everyday Japanese middle schooler, living on Planet Earth, enjoying the everyday Earth way of life. The other is an alien invader from the planet Keron, intent on taking over planet Pokopen. They are from different worlds, different galaxies and are of different species. Not to mention, one is incredibly short. Is a love between this human girl and this alien frog even possible?

The answer is yes! Their tough love is to be an intergalactic force to be reckoned with! Though they are so different physically and socially, their personalities are actually quite similar.

From the beginning, before Giroro even came to live with the Hinatas, he made assessments of each of the Hinata family members. His assessment of Natsumi was this: "She and I have the same warrior blood within us."

That was his opinion of her before he even met her. When he finally did meet her, a seething Natsumi greeted him warmly after gracefully dodging several landmines and close-range missiles, by slamming him through a window. As he hurtled towards the ground among shards of broken glass, his last thoughts were, "I never knew the strength of a single Pokopenian female warrior could be so great... Natsumi... I have fallen... for you."

Of course, the Corporal had survived the attack. He was just so shocked that a human girl had defeated him so easily, when his fighting specialty is mobile infantry and close-range combat!

This is one among many reasons their love is so great.

But what about Natsumi's feelings? Natsumi, for some ODD reason, doesn't publically acknowledge Giroro's quite obvious feelings for her. This might be because their love would probably be greeted with disapproval by both the Keron and Earth societies. Whoever's heard of a couple consisting of an alien invader and the human invadee? But we know from subtle bits of evidence that her feelings for the Corporal are indeed existent!

Natsumi acts seemingly aloof to Giroro's feelings, but proves in other situations that she knows of and accepts the way he feels. For instance, when she needs a favor or help from him, she'll sweetly gaze at him as she gently pleads for his assistance. This totally contradicts Natsumi's demanding and hasty character. If she needed the same help from Keroro or any of the other "idiot frogs" she would simply pummel them into submission. Why does she treat Giroro so differently?

Because she has fallen in love with him!

But, unfortunately for her [or fortunately, depending on how you look at it], Giroro isn't stupid, and usually doesn't fall for it. He usually says, "You're not the brutal Natsumi I know," and tells her to stop being such a floozy. :3

Another thing that is commonplace in their interactions is as simple as when they look at each other! When Natsumi catches Giroro stealing glances at her [his face turning several shades of red brighter than he normally is!], she too will blush instantaneously, then abruptly and melodramatically turn away with folded arms and a fake frown upon her face. This is very typical of a girl her age [remember, she's in middle school!] who happens to be in puppy love!

The promise of protection. Not long after Giroro met Natsumi and ascertained his feelings for her, he vowed to always protect her, above all else, even at the cost of sacrificing the invasion [Giroro's number one goal]. For him, that is a huge promise to keep, considering that the Keroro Platoon is always involving the Hinata children in several dangerous endeavors of some sort. It also shows that he has his priorities straight and his heart in the right place!

Natsumi is a strong girl, and can typically hold her own in most situations. Even though Giroro knows this, he is always seen patrolling about her when danger is afoot. And countless times, he has saved her. In the end, though, she always thanks him graciously, but still seems to keep her distance from him. Does she know she'll fall for him, like he did for her?

An unstoppable couple! If for no other reason, imagine the possibility of this team. They're both so incredibly strong-willed and ambitious, they both excel in physical abilities and have exceeding intelligence. They might possibly mean the domination of the entire universe. They're really that powerful, and together they'd be totally unstoppable.

For all these reasons and bits of evidence, one must certainly conclude what an amazing and perfect couple they would be. The love is there, it's just waiting to be realized. But we all know how amazing they would be together: certainly a pair to take on galaxies together. We'll just have to wait and see how things really turn out!!
